2001 set of Obalatan Commercial Grammar School, Ilupeju Ekiti has empowered one of its members, Mrs Taiwo Adedeji with a camera worth #150000 during the set Annual General Meeting held on 2nd October, 2022 at the school Hall.
The set coordinator, Queen Adeleye Cecilia Jemiseye said the welfare of members was paramount , saying the set resolved to empower Mrs Taiwo Adedeji upon seeing her diligence to make ‘ends meet’
Acording to Queen Cecilia, ” At the 50 years Anniversary programme of our ‘Alma mater’ last year, we saw that the camera Mrs Taiwo was using to take pictures was malfunctioning and two of us asked her what went wrong and she said her main source of living was the camera and she had spent a lot repairing it but to no avail” So , we informed our members and they agreed to buy her a new camera, which we are presenting her today”.
The recipient of the largesse, Mrs Taiwo Adedeji appreciated the set for the empowerment. She prayed God to continually protect and bless the members of the set. She also reaffirmed her commitment to the set.
The co-ordinator added that 6 members of the set were given financial assistance last year to support their businesses .She stressed that one of the importance of an Association was to help members live a decent life , which she said the set would not deviate from.
Earlier, the set elected new executives to direct the affairs of 2001 set.
The executives were:-
President – Queen Adeleye Cecilia
Vice president -Ilori Idowu
-Treasurer- Ojo Toyese
-Secretary 1- Owolabi Bunmi Ajayi
-Secretary 2- Iyun Afusa Owolabi
-Financial secretary – Bodunde Olayinka Atobatele
-Welfare 1. Ojo Oluwole Babaomo
-Welfare 2. Alagbo yemi
-P.R.O – Alonge Tajudeen.
Also, the set advisers include:
-High Chief Bakare Nurudeen, The Oluare of Ilupeju Ekiti.
-Pastor Ejigan Emmanuel
-Pastor Babalola Sunday
-Adewumi Sade Alabi, the senior prefect girl.
The President of the set, Queen Adeleye in her acceptance speech, she sought the co-operation of the set to seamlessly achieve the aims and objectives of the Association.
She reiterated the set commitment to yearly give back to Obalatan Grammar School and put smiles on the faces of their members.
Queen Adeleye appreciated the members for given her the opportunity to lead, she promised not to let the them down.
