A man simply identified as Rotimi has been killed after he was allegedly attacked with a broken bottle during the annual Ogun Festival in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.
The incident occurred under the bridge, Ijigbo , following a minor altercation between Rotimi and a man popularly known as “Fuganizer”, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
The suspect reportedly used a broken bottle to inflict serious injuries on Rotimi, who later died from the wounds sustained during the attack.
The deceased’s remains have been deposited at the mortuary of the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, while the suspect reportedly fled the scene and remains at large.
Security agencies have commenced work to apprehend the suspect for investigation and possible prosecution.
