The Chairman of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Committee on Media, Hon. Babatunde Oke, has extended his warm wishes to Muslims on the occasion of the 2024 Eid-el-Maulud, which commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
In his message, Hon. Oke encouraged the Muslim community to continue embodying the values of sacrifice, honesty, and piety exemplified by the Holy Prophet, urging these virtues as a means of achieving personal spiritual renewal and helping the country overcome its many challenges.
The lawmaker, representing Ikere Constituency 1, emphasized the importance of prayers from all faiths, particularly Muslims, to foster peace and security necessary for Nigeria’s development.
“Corruption, senseless killings, and the abduction of innocent Nigerians would cease if we embraced the holy life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). A person with the fear of God would never engage in actions that endanger the lives of others,” he said.
Hon. Oke further highlighted the significance of Eid-el-Maulud as a time for reflection on the Prophet’s sacrifices for humanity, calling for personal spiritual cleansing and attitudinal change to build a stronger, more prosperous nation.
He also extended his congratulations to Muslims in his constituency, urging them to offer continuous prayers for the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and that of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
