The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the recently concluded Ekiti State governorship election, Dr Wole Oluyede, has accepted to deliver the 2026 Annual Public Lecture of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State Council.
Oluyede, an Ikere-Ekiti-born medical expert, is expected to speak on the theme, “The Media as a Strong Catalyst for Improved Citizens’ Participation in the Electoral Process.”
According to a statement by the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi, the lecture will hold on Thursday, November 19, 2026, at the Sanni Abacha Hall, Old Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti, beginning at 11:00 a.m.

The public lecture is part of activities lined up for the 2026 NUJ Press Week, which will also feature a novelty football match, Iyan Day, dinner and award night.
The lecture will be broadcast live on selected radio stations and prominent online platforms, allowing members of the public who are unable to attend physically to participate in the proceedings.
Journalists, media professionals, academics, students of journalism, relevant stakeholders and members of the public are expected to attend the event.
