The Ondo State House of Assembly has finally served the Deputy Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, impeachment notice.
The letter, dated September 20, 2023, written and signed by the Speaker of the Assembly, Mr Oladiji Olamide Adesanmi. On Monday, 25th September, the office of the Deputy Governor was said to have received the letter.
However, the embattled Deputy Governor said he had not been served with the alleged notice of misconduct by the Ondo State House of Assembly.
In a letter, titled ‘Notice of Allegation of Gross Misconduct Against the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and signed by eleven lawmakers, accused him of “gross misconduct, abuse of office, financial recklessness and maligning the credibility of the Governor among other allegations.
Recalled that Aiyedatiwa acted as Governor when Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu went on 3 month medical vacation abroad.
