The Onimesi of Imesi Ekiti, Ayekire Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Oba Olatunji Olatunde, Olaibiyemi II, has congratulated the Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye for being garlanded with the prestigious award of the Most Loyal Deputy Governor by a reputable Media outfit, Kayegbo Media Organisation.
Oba Olatunde described the award as well deserved and merited, saying Mrs Afuye has demonstrated uncommon and unsurpassable loyalty to her principal, Governor Biodun Oyebanji in the last four years, thereby smoothening governance and put Ekiti’s development on full throttle across all spheres of the economy.
A congratulatory message personally signed by the respectable monarch and a former Commissioner for Works, on Thursday, saluted Mrs Afuye for distinguishing herself as a trustworthy politician, saying history would be kind to her for keeping unshakeable fidelity to the oath she took to be loyal to her boss and the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for Ekiti citizens to savour democracy dividends optimally .
Oba Olatunde hailed the Publisher for considering Mrs Afuye worthy of being decorated with such a highbrow award for her selfless and sacrificial services to the state, staying that it was highly heartwarming to him, Onimesi- in -Council and the entire Imesi Ekiti indigenes hearing about the award geared toward appreciating the deputy governor for her meritorious services to Ekiti land.
“On behalf of myself, the traditional chiefs and the good people of Imesi-Ekiti, I wish to place on record our profound appreciation and commendation for your remarkable contributions to the peace, stability and smooth traditional administration of Imesi-Ekiti.
“Over the years, our community has had occasions when sensitive traditional and chieftaincy matters required the intervention of the State Government. On such occasions, Your Excellency has consistently demonstrated patience, fairness, maturity and an admirable capacity for mediation.
“Your readiness to listen to the various sides, encourage dialogue and pursue peaceful resolution rather than allow disagreements to degenerate into prolonged crises has contributed immensely to the relative peace and stability which our kingdom continues to enjoy.
“Of particular significance to me as the Onimesi of Imesi-Ekiti has been the respect and understanding with which Your Excellency has approached matters concerning the traditional institution. Your interventions have helped to calm tensions at critical moments and have greatly assisted the Palace in maintaining harmony and ensuring the smooth administration of the community.
