The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Committee has declared that Governor Biodun Oyebanji merits a second term in office, citing his notable achievements across key sectors including healthcare, workers’ welfare, road infrastructure, agriculture, economic development, and youth and women empowerment.
Chairman of the committee, Senator Cyril Fasuyi, made this known during a press conference in Ado Ekiti to officially kick off preparations for the 2026 governorship election campaign.
He announced that the formal flag-off of the campaign is scheduled for the 27th April, at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, with party leaders, members, and supporters from all sixteen local government areas expected to attend.

Senator Fasuyi emphasized that the campaign would be issue-driven, devoid of rancour, intimidation, or harassment, and focused on presenting reasons why Governor Oyebanji should be re-elected.
He added that the party aims to make history by securing victory across all 177 wards and 2,445 polling units, while targeting no fewer than 500,000 votes for the governor.
Party members at the event also celebrated the recent court ruling which struck out a suit challenging Governor Oyebanji’s candidacy.
Fasuyi noted that if re-elected in the June 20 governorship poll, Oyebanji would become the first governor to serve two consecutive terms of eight years in Ekiti State.
