The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji has charged the newly sworn in Head of Service and two Commissioners to be alive to their responsibilities, saying he would not condone indiscipline and any act that could drag his Government backward.
The Governor gave the charge while swearing in and administering oath of office on the new Commissioners, Professor Bolaji Aluko , Rt. Hon.Oladapo Karounwi and Head Of Service, Engineer Sunday Olarewaju Komolafe at the Conference Hall of the Governor’s office urged them to be good representatives of the government.
Oyebanji tasked them to justify the confidence repose in them by connecting with people at the grassroot.
The Governor said, “We are all expected to demonstrate the highest level of probity, integrity, decency and decorum. As I indicated in my speech during the last batch of swearing-in, we will not tolerate any act of indiscipline, irresponsibility or anything that can potentially embarrass the Government.
“Privileges must be used solely for the progress of the people and not for oppressive and accumulative tendencies. As political leaders, you are all expected to be connected at the grassroots and to be worthy stewards of the Administration. Nothing ignoble or scandalous must be associated with any of us.”
“I earnestly urge the Head of Service to be an inspiration to his colleagues across cadres and to ensure that there is no room for indolent and unprofessional conducts.
“We must all work in tandem with the spirit and focus of this administration and in consonance with the extant rules and regulations. The Civil Service must embrace innovation to improve service delivery. The Honourable Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Digital Economy will brief you on our innovation pathway for the civil service.” He added
While reacting on behalf of others, the Head of Service pledged to diligently work intandem with the vision of the governor.
