Many politicians today in Nigeria’s political space are committing some political immoralities or corruption.Trying to undermine some sensitivities in line with the current situation in the country that has subjected the country’s unity to fragility and volatility.
Politics we say it’s a game of interest, not necessarily personal interest, but interest in a diverse sense of responsibility and recognized sense of belonging .
Looking at the heterogeneity of the country, promoting the same region or religious ticket is completely immoral in our political environment as one nation with a diverse ethnoreligious identity.
Every political parties or political actors must be sensitive and considerate that, same-religion or same region tickets in a country like this is like sermonizing all sorts of immoralities one could think of, like same-sex marriages, or homosexuality.Such is completely repressed in this part of the world.
The peculiarity and the sensitivity of equality and civic duty in our political culture must not be undermined by any political party or its political oligarchs as it will be tantamount to self-interest rather than the interest and Unity of the nation.
Harry S. Truman said and I quote ” pessimist makes difficulties of his opportunities and an optimist is the one who makes opportunities out of his difficulties”.
Nigeria’s political class should not come into the space and make the masses feel like their subjects during elections, hence they should be treated as participants whose views and ideas should be followed by the political parties irrespective of their ideological view of our political environment.
The imposition of ideas or ideologies on the masses by the political class will only have negative effects on the standard and the acceptability of such political parties which may eventually collapse as a result of it’s insensitivity towards the actions and reactions of its immediate political environment.
Nigerians should be practicing a participant’s political culture in place of what we experience today as if we are slaves to those we are bringing to govern us when a strata of the of a country feel neglected or marginalized by the ideologies of a party in power, it makes sustainability to be more difficult for such political party.
Politics as a game of interest should not be misinterpreted as an avenue to showcase political Vendetta towards other regions or religions in a country like Nigeria, in a nutshell, to balance the political scale of our nation today, one has to make inclusivity a paramount circuit.
Eventually, we shall glimpse the party that is people’s friendly in terms of policies and practices.
Truman said again that ” Nothing is new in the world today except the history you do not know”.
The only way any of these political gladiators would convince people like us, is to make sure that they give each region and religion a sense of belongings and responsibility in their policy of equality and inclusivity in choosing those who would either be in their campaign council or their cabinet members as the case may be.
