The Regent of Ilupeju Ekiti, Princess Mojisade Oniyelu has enjoined the youths of the community to be worthy ambassadors of Ilupeju Ekiti wherever they find themselves.
Princess Mojisade Oniyelu charged the youths to shun social vices that could spoil the good name the community has built for years.
The Regent gave the advice at his palace when the youth President, Engineer Femi Fagbemi led the youths of Ilupeju Ekiti on a courtesy visit to the palace on 26th August, 2022.
The youth President, Engineer Femi Fagbemi said the visit was to pay homage, receive royal blessings, and reiterate the youth’s support to the community.
Engineer Femi Fagbemi advised the Regent to use his good office for the development of the town and upliftment of Ilupeju Ekiti sons and daughters. The president said” Kabiyesi, our youths need your support in the areas of empowerment and employment, we will appreciate , if you can use your good office to help us and equally attract more developments into the town”
While responding, the Regent thanked the youths for the visit and promised to work on their demands.He prayed for the youths and told them not to distance themselves from the palace.
Earlier, the Regent and the chiefs had visited Menara market to witness trading activities and pray for traders according to traditions, being the first day the market was opened for trading after the demise of Apeju.
It would be recalled that traders were not allowed to transact business in Menara Market place for 1 month in honour of the demise of Oba Olaleye Oniyelu, the Apeju of Ilupeju Ekiti who joined his ancestors on 21st July 2021.
