A notorious thug called Gbenga a.k.a Seriki and his gang have allegedly broken the neck of Comfort Olaogbesibikan ,a nurse of General Hospital, Emure Ekiti.
The suspects inflicted injuries on other staff of the hospital, including the security man on duty.
Narrating her ordeal, nurse Olaosebikan told newsmen that Seriki rushed his five day old baby to the clinic for treatment after the baby was said to have died as a result of complications. Immediately the father was told , he pounced on her heavily leading to the fatal neck injury.
The suspect was said to have recruited four of his gangs to unleash terror on other staff of the hospital.
The situation paralyzed activities in the hospital and as at the time of this report, the hospital has not been opened for operations due to fear of further attack from the suspects who is a known notorious criminal in the area.
Precise news was informed that a delegation from the Hospital Management Board had visited the hospital for further inquiries into the matter.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, Ekiti State, has described the incident as barbaric calling on the Ekiti State Police Command to fish out the suspect for prosecution.
The reaction of the association is contained in a statement signed by the chairman, Comrade Kunle Oni, Secretary, Comrade Olabisi Ayenioye and the PRO, Comrade Olaoluwa Odunayo.
The statement reads: it will be a great injustice to the injured nurse and the health community if the suspect is allowed to go unpunished adding that such development will encourage further attack on health officials.
The trio noted that the injured nurse had undergone several tests and X-trays as a result of the injury sustained from the brutal attack.
