A former governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, astute administrator and philanthropist, Engr. Kayode Ojo, says he is overwhelmed with gratitude over the avalanche of birthday messages and goodwill he received on his 56th birthday, August 1, 2026.
In a statement personally signed and made available to newsmen from ” Robinson Kyllini Beach Resort, Kasto Kyllini, Greece”, Ojo expressed appreciation to Ekiti people at home and in the diaspora, family members, friends, political and non-political admirers, business partners , associates, football team mates, Pro Chancellor colleagues and fans across the world.
He recalled the massive reception accorded him in Ekiti ahead of his declaration for the 2026 governorship election on October 9, 2025.
“The endless messages remind me again of the enthusiasm displayed by nearly all Ekiti people who trooped out to welcome me to the state ahead of my declaration,” Ojo said.

“I am grateful to you all for your love, support, encouragement and affection. I am speechless, flabbergasted and astonished.
“To be honest, I don’t know what I did to merit your encomiums, love and support at all times. You remain a strong pillar of my strength, humility, focus and readiness to be more committed to the development of society, especially Ekiti State.
“Your continued show of love and support reverberates in my heart that ‘the roots of all goodness lie in the soil of appreciation for goodness.’ I owe you my unwavering respect, humility, service and commitment to developing society, especially Ekiti State and Nigeria as a whole.
“I value the time you all dedicated to sending and expressing your wishes to celebrate my birthday, and I promise not to let you down.

Ojo added that the outpouring of goodwill has further strengthened his resolve to serve the people.
