Nigerian youths have been urged to embrace their youthful age as a divine asset and to live their lives in a way that glorifies God, rather than allowing anyone to despise their age or downplay their potential.
This admonition was given by the District Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke-Ayo District Headquarters, Ilupeju Ekiti, Pastor Soji Ayoola, during the church’s 2025 Annual Youth Anniversary celebration held on Sunday at the church auditorium.
Speaking on the theme, “Embracing Your Youth for Glory” and taking his text from 1 Timothy 4:12, Pastor Ayoola emphasized that young people carry God’s glory and are endowed with unique virtues that will manifest in due time if nurtured in Christ.
“Every youth has been deposited with divine virtue that will showcase him or her for greatness. Don’t allow anyone to look down on you. Don’t follow the multitude to do evil. You are the light of the world, and you must always be a good example,” he charged.
He further encouraged the youths not to shy away from responsibilities in the house of God, warning that seeking shortcuts or joining unholy alliances could rob them of their destinies. He highlighted truthfulness, generosity, holiness, and a Christlike spirit as virtues that distinguish glorious youths.
The cleric urged the congregation’s young members to cultivate a gentle spirit, honour God in their thoughts, words, and actions, and live lives that positively impact their communities.
In her goodwill message, the Youth Coordinator, Mrs. Taiwo Ajayi, commended the youths for their active participation and urged them to rededicate themselves to the service of Christ and humanity. She also praised the anniversary committee for their dedication and commitment to ensuring the success of the programme.
The event featured an array of activities, including teen choreography and musical renditions which highlighted the creativity and passion of the church’s young people.
Delivering his royal counsel, the Obanla of Ilupeju Ekiti, His Highness Oba Sunday Ogunsola, advised the youths to steer clear of bad company, warning that “evil association corrupts good morals.” He stressed the need for them to remain focused and committed to building a future anchored on godly values.
Similarly, the Anniversary Chairman, Hon. Ojo Oluropo, expressed gratitude to God for the success of the event and commended the invited guests for their support and encouragement.
The highlight of the celebration was a ₦1 million donation towards the procurement of modern church gadgets, a gesture described by church leaders as a significant boost to the district’s evangelical mission.
