President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the inclusion of the Itawure–Aramoko–Ado Ekiti and Aramoko–Ijero–Ifaki Ekiti road projects in the 2026 Federal Budget.
A letter conveying the approval from the Office of the President has been sent to the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, with a copy also forwarded to the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji.
According to a statement by Olayinka Oyebode, Special Adviser (Media) to the Governor, the approval followed a visit by Governor Oyebanji and the Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, to President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Sunday, November 9, 2025. The meeting focused on addressing the poor state of federal roads in Ekiti State.
Public concern has grown in recent months over the condition of some key federal roads in the state, especially the Itawure–Aramoko–Ado route.
The Federal Government, under President Tinubu, has already awarded three major road projects in Ekiti, with contractors mobilized to site. Meanwhile, the Oyebanji administration has completed the reconstruction of the Ado–Iworoko–Ifaki road, alongside numerous intercity and township road projects over the past three years.
When completed, the newly approved roads are expected to improve transportation, enhance trade and connectivity, and open up new economic opportunities across the state—aligning with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Oyebanji’s Shared Prosperity Vision.
Governor Oyebanji, speaking on behalf of the people of Ekiti State, expressed profound gratitude to President Tinubu for his continued support and strategic interventions in the state’s infrastructure and socioeconomic development.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to citizens’ welfare and pledged continued collaboration with the Federal Government, private sector stakeholders, and development partners to accelerate growth in the state.
