The Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, and a former member of the House of Representatives, Bimbo Daramola, have called on journalists in the state to sustain their support for the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
They made the appeal while addressing journalists at the February congress of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, held in Ado-Ekiti and presided over by the NUJ Chairman, Kayode Babatuyi.

Speaking at the congress, Olatunbosun acknowledged the longstanding cordial relationship between the Ekiti State Government and the media, noting that Governor Oyebanji places high value on the partnership. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to the welfare of journalists and urged media practitioners to continue to demonstrate professionalism and responsible reporting in reciprocation.
In his remarks, Daramola described journalism as the “eyes and ears of the people,” stressing its vital role in shaping society. He commended journalists for their positive contributions to the state and pledged continued support for their welfare, while encouraging fairness and ethical standards in the discharge of their duties.
The former lawmaker also expressed support for Governor Oyebanji’s re-election ambition, citing the administration’s achievements across key sectors, including health, education, infrastructure and human capital development.
