President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a fresh round of appointments and renewals across major education agencies, reinforcing leadership continuity and governance in the sector.
Among the appointments, Prof. Modupe Adeola Adelabu has been named Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Examinations Council (NECO), while Prof. Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi will continue his role as Registrar and Chief Executive of NECO.
In the technical education sub-sector, Prof. Babatunde Salako has been appointed Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). Prof. Idris M. Bugaje has also been reappointed as Executive Secretary of NBTE for a second and final five-year term.
Additionally, Engr. Dr. Bongfa Binfa has been appointed Rector of the Federal Polytechnic N’yak-Shendam for a five-year term.
In the library and knowledge management sector, Prof. Chinwe Veronica Anunobi has had her tenure renewed as Director/Chief Executive of the National Library of Nigeria for a final five-year term.
The appointments are expected to strengthen institutional leadership and drive ongoing reforms across Nigeria’s education system.
