Royal heritage, academic achievement, professional excellence, and cultural devotion define the inspiring life of His Royal Majesty, King Charles Douglas Jaja.
Born on 27th January, 1959 at the King Jaja Palace in Opobo Kingdom, he was raised within one of the Niger Delta’s most respected royal lineages.
His educational foundation began at St. Paul’s Church Primary School (1965–1967), followed by Government Primary School, Opobo (1970–1973). He attended Secondary Technical College, Ikot-Akata (1973–1976), and Government Technical College, Abak (1976–1978), before proceeding to Shell Petroleum Development Company’s Training College in Port Harcourt (1978–1979).



He later studied at SANDOC Institute of Management (1979–1990) and earned a B.Sc. in Public Administration & Political Studies (Hons.) from the University of Port Harcourt (1991–1998).

Beginning his career at Shell Petroleum Development Company as a Petroleum Industries Instrument Technician, he later joined P.S. Mandrides & Co. Ltd., where he rose through several strategic positions to become Assistant Manager.
He also held leadership roles as Depot Manager in Maiduguri and with the Nigerian Bulk Oil Company in Port Harcourt.
His appointment to the Board of Directors of P.S. Mandrides Plc conglomerate in 2015 further underscored his reputation as a seasoned administrator and corporate leader.

His lifelong commitment to preserving Opobo culture was reflected in his active role within the Mina Ogbo Kina Cultural Society of Opobo Kingdom, where he served as President and later Patron.
Following the passing of his elder brother, King Dandeson Douglas Jaja, he was formally announced Amanyanabo; the Treaty King of Opobo Kingdom on 31st December 2025.
Married to Queen Boiya Charles Jaja, the monarch is blessed with a daughter, Princess Daisy Ibalafa Charles Jaja, alongside grandchildren Jason, Jayla, and Jayden.
