Following the emmergence of Hon. Gboyega Aribisogan as the speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, The House has elected new principal officers for proper legislative activities at its plenary on Tuesday.
According to Rt. Hon Speaker Aribisogan, the principal officers are: Rt.Hon. Hakeem Jamiu who retains his position as the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Yemisi Ayokunle, became Leader of Business, Hon. Tope Ogunleye, Chief Whip; Hon. Tajudeen Akingbolu, Deputy Leader; and Hon. Adeteju Okuyiga was elected the Deputy Whip.
Hon. Yemisi Ayokunle is the first woman to become the Leader of Business in the history of Ekiti State House of Assembly.
