Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has distributed 100 operational vehicles to security agencies in the state to enhance security operations and support the eventual take-off of the Ekiti State Police. The vehicles were formally handed over to heads of security agencies at the Osuntokun Pavilion, Government House Grounds, Ado-Ekiti.

Oyebanji said the provision was part of his administration’s sustained investment in the state’s security architecture, stressing that the protection of lives and property remained a major priority of the government.
The governor explained that the vehicles would improve surveillance, mobility and response to distress calls, while enabling security personnel to increase patrols and maintain greater visibility across the state. He recalled that his administration had earlier provided patrol vehicles, armoured personnel carriers, bulletproof vests, helmets and other security equipment.
He assured the security agencies of continued government support, including regular financial assistance and efforts to strengthen state-owned security institutions. Oyebanji also urged the agencies to maintain professionalism, properly utilise the vehicles and ensure their regular maintenance.
The governor called for stronger collaboration among security agencies and urged the intelligence community to maximise surveillance technology. He disclosed that discussions had commenced with CIG Motors on the establishment of a service and maintenance outlet in Ekiti to ensure regular servicing of the vehicles.
Oyebanji commended security personnel for their sacrifices and collaborative efforts in maintaining peace in the state, urging them to remain vigilant as political activities intensify. He also acknowledged the contributions of traditional rulers, religious leaders, community security initiatives and vigilante groups to the security of the state.
