The first female gubernatorial and Action Democratic Party in the just concluded governorship election in Ekiti State ,Engineer Kemi Elebute- Halle has said passionate leaders who loves the country and Nigerians’ were solutions to the mirage of challenges bedevling Nigeria .
Mrs Elebute further tasked Nigerians’ to seek the face of God to give her leaders like stream whose mission would be to make life comfortable, transfer wealth to the masses and not ” lake leaders”
whose pen-chat was to acquire and siphoned the common wealth of Nigeria.
Mrs Elebute gave the charge recently while Fielding questions from Journalists on the state of the Nation in her residence in Ado Ekit. According to her, “We should pray God to choose a leader that is passionate about Nigeria and Nigerians’ irrespective of political parties, tribe and religion, not a self acquired leader who do not bother about the wellbeing of the masses”
She warned Nigerians not to play God when God bestows progressive leaders on the Nation. Saying Nigerians should not over praise them so as not to incur the wrath of God.
The philantropist lashed at Nigerian leaders for their inability to plan for the future of the country long time ago and their wasteful culture of abandoning their predecessors projects to start their own .Mrs Elebute counselled the Governors to complete all uncompleted projects inherited from previous administration irrespective of political parties, religion and tribe.
She noted that leaving such projects was not only wasting tax payers fund but would retard growth and development of such state .
The Director General of the Presidential Campagin Committee for ADP enjoined Nigerians’ to be optimistic. “She said that all that Nigerians are currently going through would soon be over: Economic, political quagmier, insecurity , scarcity of fuel , money and dearth infrastructures “We are all praying for a better Nigeria where Nigerians can have robust economy, where Nigerians can sleep with their two eyes closed, where we can value education. Nigeria that will be loved by Nigerians. She therefore urged Nigerians amidst the current national woes to be hopeful.
“I don’t know how I can describe our economy right now. Everybody will ask. Even our children that can barely talk now know the hardship that is going on right now and each time I look, I say, how did we get here? When we have a failed economy mixed with scarcity of naira and fuel.
She further advised Nigerians not to allow leaders without blue- print to lead them, Saying allowing them would amount to scam. She further advised women to participate actively in politics and their chosen fields.
