The Ilupeju Development Association (IDA) North America and Canada has elected a new Executive Council to steer the affairs of the association for the next three years following its election held on June 21, 2026.
The newly elected Chairman, Mr. Olusesan Ajayi, in his acceptance speech expressed gratitude to members of the association for the confidence reposed in the new leadership, assuring them of the executives’ commitment to advancing the objectives of the branch and contributing to the development of Ilupeju-Ekiti.
Mr Ajayi said the leadership considers the opportunity to serve as a privilege and pledged not to disappoint members.
“We wish to express our appreciation to all sons and daughters of Ilupeju-Ekiti in Canada and the United States for the opportunity you have given us to serve for the next three years. We have no doubt that we are all in this together to move our branch forward and continue to contribute our best towards the progress of our dear town,” he said.

The chairman emphasized the need for unity and collective effort among members, noting that the success of the association depends on the cooperation and support of all stakeholders.
Mr Ajayi also commended the National President of the Ilupeju Development Association, Elder Banji Ogungbe and his executives for their leadership and commitment to uniting Ilupeju indigenes across the world and encouraging active participation in the development of Ilupeju Ekiti. According to him, the national president’s efforts in identifying and mobilizing sons and daughters of Ilupeju globally for the advancement of the town would be remembered positively by future generations.
He further pledged the unflinching support of the North America and Canada branch to the national executive and reaffirmed the branch’s commitment to the continued development of Ilupeju-Ekiti.
The chairman also appreciated Mrs. Adedipe and Chief Agbaje for their roles in ensuring a successful and peaceful electoral process.

Members of the association expressed optimism that the new leadership would strengthen the activities of IDA North America and Canada while deepening support for developmental initiatives in Ilupeju-Ekiti.
The election marked another milestone in the association’s efforts to promote unity among Ilupeju indigenes in the diaspora and sustain contributions towards the growth and development of Ilupeju Ekiti.
