
The Ekiti State Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon Adesola Gold Adedayo, has congratulated Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his resounding victory in the just concluded governorship election, describing his reelection as a clear demonstration of support for his performance over gamble.
The Commissioner saluted the teeming Ekiti youths that constitute the highest voting demography in the state, saying their solid backing contributed largely to the remarkable dominance of the governor over his opponents across the wards and local government areas.
These were contained in his congratulatory message to the governor, which was released to journalists in Ado Ekiti, on Monday.
In the Saturday’s governorship election, Governor Oyebanji polled a total of 319,224 votes to trounce other contestants in the election, while also winning in all the 16 local government areas.
Responding to the history making victory, Adedayo rejoiced with Oyebanji for earning the confidence of Ekiti people through his performance, humility, inclusivity and strong connection to the grassroots that culminated in him.becoming the first governor to win the governorship back -to -back in Ekiti.
The Commissioner added that Oyebanji breaking the back to back record that never existed in Ekiti’s political history, would remain indelible in the state political record, promising that his people oriented policies have earned him respect and etched his name in gold as a leader who can be trusted with power.
He assured the teeming youths that they won’t regret their solid backing for the governor, which he said vividly manifested in the outcomes of the election across the state.
Tracing how the votes were garnered, Adedayo praised the governor for making the victory easier for the party through immense investments in infrastructures, human capital development, agriculture, education, health and human services, security and welfare of workers.
“I congratulate our jinx breaking and youth loving governor, Biodun Oyebanji on this resounding victory, which he earned by building trust and earning respect of our sophisticated youth population.
“The youths constitute the highest voting demography in the state and the outcomes showed that the youths stood solidly with the governor across the 16 local governments, 177 wards and the 2,445 polling units.
“I was thrilled and joyous that the youths spoke loudly and audibly that they want the continuity of good governance being savoured under Governor Oyebanji to last till 2030 and God answered their prayers.
“I want to assure the youths that they won’t regret their support. The second term will be more beneficial in terms of huge investments in employment generation, education and other human capital driven policies being executed by the governor”.
