The new Commissioner of police in Ekiti state, CP Adeniran Kunle Akinwale has called for concerted efforts to permanently restore peace and tranquility for robust economy in Ekiti state.
The police chief who made this known in a press conference in Ado Ekiti , explained that his deployment to Ekiti State is to work harmoniously with vigilantes and sister agencies to permanently stamp out criminality in the state.
He called on stakeholders and Ekiti citizens to give relevant information that will help police flush out criminality and terrorism from the state, urging those in possession of unauthorized fire arms to politely submit them to the police before nemesis catches up with them. ” We are ready to go after those in possession of ammunition, so it’s advisable you hand them over to us on time.”
The CP hinted that all hands must be on deck to restore permanent peace to the land . He appealed to Ekiti residents to be security conscious and report enemies of progress in the state to police officers.

While recounting the ugly incidents in Ekiti state where Onimojo and Elesun were brutally murdered and kidnapping of students of The Apostolic Nursery and Primary School in Emure Ekiti before their rescued, the CP bemoaned the dastardly act and said the incidents were clarion call for every citizen to report evil doers in their communities.
While calling on the three faiths – Christians, Muslims and the traditionalists to intensify prayers for the peace of Ekiti State. The CP posits further, “to combat criminality and terrorism required both the physical and spiritual weapons ”
Meanwhile, reacting to questions, the police chief said he could not confirm the arrest of one Olowofela from Igbara odo whom one Baboga Alhaji was said to have linked with the killing of two Ekiti monarchs and that of Koro in Kwara state but said investigations are still on-going on the arrested suspected killers of the monarchs in Ekiti and Kwara states.
