The member representing Oye Constituency II in the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Idowu Odebunmi (popularly known as ID Aluta), has described the landslide re-election victory of Governor Biodun Oyebanji and his deputy, Chief (Mrs.) Monisade Afuye, as a well-deserved reward for their outstanding performance in office.
In a congratulatory statement made available to journalists in Ado-Ekiti, Hon Odebunmi congratulated Governor Oyebanji, Deputy Governor Afuye, and the First Lady, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, on the historic feat of becoming the first governor in Ekiti State to secure back-to-back re-election victories.
According to the lawmaker, the governor’s overwhelming victory was driven by his humility, inclusive style of governance, wealth of experience garnered from working with previous administrations, love for the people, and commitment to delivering good governance across the state. He noted that the administration’s achievements in key sectors, including healthcare, education, road construction and rehabilitation, power supply, infrastructure development, and the prioritisation of workers’ welfare, earned him the trust and support of electorates.
Odebunmi particularly commended the governor for the rehabilitation of the Omu–Ijelu–Itapa Road, describing the project as a major intervention that has positively impacted residents of the area.
He expressed confidence that Governor Oyebanji would build on the successes recorded during his first term and deliver more dividends of democracy to the people of Ekiti State.
The lawmaker also prayed for God’s guidance, wisdom, strength, and sound health for the governor as he begins another term in office.
Odebunmi further appreciated the people of Oye Constituency II for their unwavering support for the governor and the leadership of the state, noting that their massive votes contributed significantly to the victory recorded in the June 20, 2026 governorship election.
He prayed that God would preserve the residents to enjoy the benefits of the choice they made at the polls and the continued progress of Ekiti State under the Oyebanji administration.
