Today, 5th January, 2026, I celebrate a man whose life exemplifies service, sacrifice, leadership, and enduring impact — Comrade Babatunde Ogunmilugba: former student union leader, former Chairman of Oye Local Government and Ifeloju Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Ilupeju Ekiti, and a politician of uncommon repute.
Comrade Ogunmilugba stands tall as a grassroots mobiliser and administrator par excellence, whose leadership journey has been defined by purpose, discipline, and unwavering commitment to the people. From his early days in student unionism to the pinnacle of local government administration, he has consistently demonstrated an exceptional ability to manage men and resources with wisdom, fairness, and foresight.
As Chairman of Ifeloju LCDA, comrade Ogunmilugba’s legacy is written not in words alone, but in concrete infrastructures and people-centred policies that have stood the test of time. Foremost among his landmark achievements is the construction of the Ifeloju LCDA Secretariat in Ilupeju Ekiti, a monumental symbol of governance, stability, and institutional presence. This singular project alone speaks volumes of his vision for a structured and functional local administration.
His commitment to community development was further evident in the rehabilitation of the Ojuoja Mosque road in Ilupeju Ekiti, the construction of shops in Ilupeju Ekiti and Osin, construction of Galaxy Bus Stop, the installation of solar street lights at Omu-Ijelu, and the opening of new roads across the communities that make up Ifeloju LCDA. These projects not only enhanced the aesthetic value of the communities but also improved economic activities, security, and ease of movement for residents while Farmers and market women were not left out, they were empowered
Beyond physical infrastructure, Comrade Ogunmilugba invested heavily in human capital development. He provided educational support to students at primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, reaffirming his belief that education remains the strongest pillar for societal growth. His support for traditional institutions and palaces within the LCDA strengthened cultural heritage and community cohesion, while the establishment of the Ifeloju Lion Squad, a local security outfit, demonstrated his proactive approach to safeguarding lives and property.
A God-fearing and compassionate leader, Comrade Ogunmilugba is known for prioritising the welfare of his followers, always offering guidance, encouragement, and a dependable shoulder to lean on. In politics, he remains a rare breed — a man of loyalty, total commitment, and selfless service, giving his best to every cause.
Today, I do not only celebrate your birthday; I celebrate a life of impact, integrity, and purposeful leadership. You are a loving, caring, progressive, and pragmatic leader whose wit and strategic insight are nothing short of exceptional.
On this auspicious occasion of your birthday, I pray that God Almighty blesses your new age with sound health, peaceful mind, long life, and abundant prosperity. May all your heart’s desires be fulfilled, and may your years ahead be crowned with greater accomplishments and divine favour.
