The contradiction between Nigeria Labour congress(NLC) and Federal government, Nigeria can be negated in a final harmonious synthesis by addressing the root cause of the Strike. FG shouldn’t pretend as if it doesn’t understand that workers are not smiling, especially with the removal of fuel subsidy. FG should address the hardship caused by subsidy removal; sharing 1 rubber of rice as palliative and the insignificant 35k palliative are ludricous and anti- People.
A hungry man is an angry man, coupled with unwarranted brutality of the NLC president and the collapse of some of the middle class to the lower class by the hardship meted on them through the FG’s policy of fuel subsidy removal, without proper consultation with the Labour unions, this can’t be swept under the carpet, the earlier the federal government address the root cause the better .
A nationwide strike is the only language that the FG truly understands. FG should stop the pretence as if all is well and put an end to the unbridled pauperization of the entire country
Democracy is a form of government that should be concerned with the prosperity of the citizens not the other way round.
FG should know that subjecting the NLC to some abrupt injunctions of courts will not help the prosperity of Nigerians, and it will also diminish the legitimacy of any democratic government in place and her institutions .
In industrialized democracies, where there are major industrialists and not Nigeria where we have the comporado elites who don’t know what the economy will pass through in just a minute of a Nationwide strike would have prevented the occurrence of this menacing incubus upwelling the anger of peace-loving Nigerian workers.
