The Very Rev. Dr. M.B.O. Arogundade has admonished parents and children alike to build and sustain legacies founded on integrity, godliness, and good character.
The cleric gave the charge during a sermon at the Methodist Church, Ilupeju-Ekiti, as part of activities marking the 30th remembrance anniversary and hymn-singing programme held in honour of the late Pa James Babatunde Fatile.
Drawing inspiration from Proverbs 22:28, Rev. Arogundade urged the children of the deceased and other members of the congregation to uphold the noble values handed down by their late father.

“Build a right legacy for your children, build a sustainable legacy, and continue in the good legacy left behind. Preserve the good name and integrity of your late father and love God with the whole of your heart and mind,” he admonished.
The cleric noted that a good name remains one of the greatest inheritance parents can leave for their children, stressing that wealth and material possessions may fade away, but integrity and godly character endure for generations.
He commended the family of the late Pa Fatile for sustaining the virtues and principles for which their father was known during his lifetime.
In a tribute on behalf of the children, Mrs. Aladesuyi Ayodele expressed gratitude to God for the impactful life their father lived, describing him as a disciplined, God-fearing, and loving parent who devoted himself to raising them in the fear of the Lord. She said that she and her siblings remain committed to following the Christian values and teachings imparted to them by their late father.
“Our father brought us up in the way of the Lord, and by the grace of God, we are following in those footsteps. His life continues to inspire us, and we remain grateful for the legacy he left behind,” she said.
The remembrance service featured hymn renditions, prayers, and reflections on the life and contributions of the late Pa James Babatunde Fatile, whose memory was celebrated by family members, friends, and members of the church congregation.
