The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Ekiti North Senatorial District, Dr Funso Ayeni, has challenged members of the National Assembly representing the district to account for their stewardship and explain the dividends of democracy delivered to the people.
Ayeni made the call at the 2026 Ayedun Ekiti Day celebration, where ADC candidates received a warm reception and standing ovation from residents and other attendees.
The senatorial candidate expressed disappointment over the absence of Senator Cyril Fasuyi and Hon. Akinlayo Kolawole Davidson , (Akin Omo Akin), whom he said were expected at the event, stressing that community celebrations provide an avenue for elected representatives to interact with their constituents and give an account of their stewardship.
Ayeni said he would have used the occasion to engage his opponent on his performance and representation. He called on all residents of Ekiti North to vote for ADC candidates in the election, saying residents needs would be prioritised.
Also, the ADC candidate for Ekiti North Federal Constituency I, Sir Stephen Oribamise, assured the people of the constituency of accessible and responsive representation if elected. The ADC candidates also announced donations towards the development of Ayedun Ekiti.
