The Wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji has rallied stakeholders of Ekiti State University (EKSU) and other key sectors of the state to support the re-election bid of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, describing continuity in governance as essential to sustaining the developmental strides witnessed across the state.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the university campus in Ado-Ekiti, Dr Oyebanji stressed the need for stronger collaboration among government, educational institutions and community leaders in promoting sustainable development and improving the welfare of citizens.
Addressing participants, the Governor’s wife highlighted the achievements of the Biodun Oyebanji administration, noting that the government had remained committed to people-oriented programmes and policies that have positively impacted lives across the state.

She specifically spoke on the Widows, Aged and Orphans Hope (WAOH) Empowerment Project, an initiative under her pet project that provides support programmes designed to improve livelihoods and foster economic growth among vulnerable groups.
Dr Oyebanji also enumerated several intervention programmes facilitated through the Federal Government and implemented by the state administration, including scholarship opportunities for students, prompt payment of workers’ salaries and pensions, and the execution of numerous infrastructural projects across the state.
According to her, these achievements underscore the administration’s commitment to good governance and provide sufficient reasons for residents to support Governor Oyebanji’s bid for a second term in office.
Earlier in his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Professor Joseph Ayodele, commended Governor Oyebanji for his numerous interventions in the institution.
He described the governor as a visionary leader whose administration has significantly improved the university’s infrastructure and learning environment through strategic investments and support for higher education.
Professor Ayodele pledged the support of the university community towards the governor’s re-election, expressing confidence that a second term would further consolidate the gains already recorded in the education sector and other areas of governance.
Participants at the meeting also expressed appreciation to the First Lady for initiating the engagement and reaffirmed their commitment to the continued development of Ekiti State.
They subsequently pledged their support for Governor Oyebanji in the forthcoming governorship election scheduled for Saturday and urged eligible voters to come out en masse and exercise their civic responsibility.
